Meridian Strategies
Communications for companies that build the world we live in.
Bio
Meridian Strategies is a communications firm that works with companies building the physical world — infrastructure, energy, materials, and the policy that shapes them. We do not do viral tweets. We do the long work of making complex subjects legible to the people who decide whether projects get built.
Founded in 2019 by four former journalists, the firm now has twelve people across New York and Washington. Our clients include a wind-energy developer navigating county permitting, a concrete manufacturer decarbonizing its supply chain, and a transit authority explaining a $4 billion tunnel to the neighborhoods above it.
We write white papers that get cited in Congressional testimony. We produce documentary shorts that screen at film festivals. We train engineers to talk to reporters without sounding like they are reading from a manual. And we maintain a simple rule: every piece of work has to be understandable to a smart person who knows nothing about the subject.
Quote
Meridian took a story we had been trying to tell for three years and made it make sense in one paragraph. That paragraph ran above the fold.
Quote
They are the only communications firm I have worked with that actually reads the engineering reports before writing the press release.

When our tunnel project was facing local opposition, Meridian did not spin. They explained. And it worked.
